Second-harmonic generation in planar waveguides of doped silica.
Second-harmonic generation was produced in germanium-doped silica planar waveguides prepared by simulfaneous illumination with 1064- and 532-nm laser light. During preparation using prism coupling to specific waveguiding modes, the film-generated second-harmonic intensity grew as a function of preparation time until it saturated. The growth rate and saturation level for p-polarized second-harmo...
متن کاملSecond Harmonic Generation from Organic Optical Waveguides on Diffraction Gratings
We present experimental results of second harmonic generation using a waveguide of PUSC deposited on a silver diffraction grating. The reflected second harmonic signal is enhanced at the angles of resonant excitation of the guided modes or of the surface plasmon. At these angles, we observe unexpected minima in the second harmonic signal, when the second harmonic frequency is situated within th...
متن کاملSecond-harmonic generation in vortex-induced waveguides.
We study the second-harmonic generation and localization of light in a reconfigurable waveguide induced by an optical vortex soliton in a defocusing Kerr medium. We show that the vortex-induced waveguide greatly improves conversion efficiency from the fundamental to the second-harmonic field.
متن کاملSecond-harmonic generation in subwavelength graphene waveguides
We suggest a novel approach for generating the second-harmonic radiation in subwavelength graphene waveguides. We demonstrate that the quadratic phase matching between plasmonic guided modes of different symmetries can be achieved in a planar double-layer graphene structure when conductivity of one of the layers becomes spatially modulated. We predict theoretically that, owing to graphene nonlo...
متن کاملEvaluation of Čerenkov Second Harmonic Generation in Planar Waveguides in the Fourier Domain
Analytical expressions for Čerenkov second-harmonic-generation in planar waveguiding structures are derived, based on evaluation of the conversion in the Fourier domain, assuming no depletion of the fundamental guided beam. The derivation is much shorter than that in existing methods and allows for a relatively simple interpretation of the main features.
